MATT SCHOFIELD BAND -

Inspired by the Blues, infused with the funk rhythms of New Orleans and topped-off by virtuoso musicianship, Matt Schofield is being talked of as the finest Blues guitarist to have emerged in Europe for several generations, perhaps even in the World. His latest album "Siftin Thru Ashes" (Nugene Records) has received rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic.

Britain's Guitarist magazine describes Schofield's guitar playing as "Dynamite", picking him as the only non-American in their review of the future of Blues guitar; while America's Blues Revue calls him "The entire package - a singer with range and soul, and a guitarist who delivers with devastating tone and superb dynamics".

JOHN RENBOURN and ROBIN WILLIAMSON

John Renbourn (born 8 August 1944, Marylebone, London, England) is an English guitarist and songwriter. He is possibly best known for his collaboration with guitarist Bert Jansch as well as his work with the folk group Pentangle, although he maintained a solo career both before, during and after that band's existence (1967-1973).

While most commonly labelled a folk musician, Renbourn's musical tastes and interests take in early music, classical music, blues and world music. His most influential album, Sir John Alot (1968), featured his take on songs from the Medieval era.
John Renbourn on the Custom House Square stage at New Bedford Summerfest 2005.

John Renbourn studied classical guitar at school and it was during this period that he was introduced to Early Music. In the 1950s, along with many others, he was greatly influenced by the musical craze of "Skiffle" and this eventually led him to explore the work of artists such as Leadbelly, Josh White and Big Bill Broonzy.

Robin Williamson

ROBIN WILLIAMSON - founder in the 60's of the influential Incredible String Band and the Merry Band of the 70's, has been a key figure at the forefront of the storytelling revival in Europe and America since the 80's. He has authored a number of books including The Craneskin Bag (re-telling and re-versifications of Celtic lore) and Celtic Bards, Celtic Druids (co-authored with R.J. Stewart). Robin is Honorary Chief Bard of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.

DANI WILDE BAND

The year 2006 saw Dani along with her younger brother Will 'Harmonica' Wilde and the band playing some great concerts including The Royal Albert Hall, supporting Jools Holland and Vibes in The Vines Festival with Gary Moore.
In September 2007, Dani's dream came true when she signed a record deal with Top International Blues Label Ruf Records. Her debut album, produced by Mike Griot and recorded in Germany in December 2007 will be released in early 2008.
In 2008 Dani toured Europe on The Blues Caravan Tour with fellow Ruf artists Candye Kane and Deborah Coleman. In between the legs of the Blues Caravan she will also be touring up and down the UK in 2009. Please keep an eye out on her website
www.daniwilde.com for more information and tour dates.
"She releases a sort of diesel roar from her throat, pierced with little darts of high falsetto. It is like two voices. She sings the old twelve bar blues "I'm In The Mood", whooping and slurring like an old boy from the Delta. The place goes mad, as if it can't quite believe what it's heard."

Tickets : £8 (01392) 873407
